Solutions and tools: engineering wedges, delivered as a service
AEI Corporation builds a small set of OPC UA and TSN tools — an information-model builder, a time-aware-shaper frame analyser, and a TSN switch configurator. They are not shrink-wrapped products. They are engineering wedges: things we built to do our own delivery work faster and more repeatably, and that we run inside a project or walk through in a technical session. The deliverable is the engineering outcome; the tool is how we get there.
Why tools, if the deliverable is a service?
Because the hard parts of an OPC UA or TSN project recur, and a tool captures the recurring part so each engagement starts further along. An information model gets built the same way every time; a time-aware schedule always has to be verified against real frames; a TSN switch always has to be configured over NETCONF. We built for those recurring steps rather than re-solving them by hand each project. They sit here as capabilities rather than in a shop for the same reason: inventory for delivery, not licences to sell.
The tools
- Info Modeller — build and edit OPC UA information models (NodeSet2), starting from base and companion specifications.
- Qbv Analyser — a live frame-distribution view that shows whether an 802.1Qbv time-aware schedule is actually placing frames where it was configured to.
- CUC / Qbv Configurator — a wizard that emits 802.1Q gate/preemption configuration as YANG and pushes it to a TSN switch over NETCONF.
- OPC UA over TSN test rack — the lab bench we validate OPC-UA-over-TSN behaviour on.
An OPC UA nodeset validator and an MES bridge / dashboard are in preparation and will appear here as they are ready to show.
