Use cases: what the machine actually has to do
This namespace indexes AEI Corporation's work by function (the job the control system performs), while industries: indexes the same work by who buys it. A single use case recurs across industries: condition monitoring is the same signal-processing and networking problem on a textile spindle, a packaging servo and a pipeline pump.
The depth is not repeated here. Each use-case page is a nav-grade entry point that points into the protocol, operating-system and signal-processing pages that carry the engineering:
industries:<industry> -> use-cases:<function> -> technology:<protocol>
Use cases
- Motion control — coordinated multi-axis drives and the cycle budget they impose.
- Factory automation — discrete cell and line control.
- Process automation — continuous and batch/recipe control.
- Condition monitoring — vibration and motor-current based machine health.
- Sensor maintenance — calibration, drift and field replacement.
- Remote maintenance — secure remote access to a shipped machine.
- Portability and remote presence — battery and intermittent-link operation.
- Autonomous vehicles / AGV — guided vehicles and their onboard networks.
- Pipeline inspection / NDT — in-line inspection tooling.
- ERP and MES integration — plant floor to business system.
- Building automation — BACnet, BMS and low-power controllers, including home automation.
- Yarn cutting and clearing — winding-machine electronics and splice control.
- Yarn testing — textile laboratory instrument control.
Each page lists the industries it recurs in and the search terms it is indexed under, because most of these cross several: condition monitoring is one problem on a textile spindle, a packaging servo and a pipeline pump, and an AGV is the same vehicle whether it runs in a mill or a warehouse.
All thirteen pages are written (July 2026). Each one states the engineering constraint that defines the use case, then points into the protocol, operating system and signal-processing pages that carry the detail.
